If you’ve always dreamed of having the opportunity to go into space, you’ll be happy to hear that that could soon become a reality - if you’re a multi-millionaire.
Axiom Space, a private space firm based in Houston, is organising space expeditions to the International Space Station , starting in 2020.
But the once-in-a-lifetime trip comes with the eye-watering price tag of £41 million ($55 million).
That cost covers a 15-week training programme, transportation to and from the ISS, and the length of your stay.
Michael Suffredini, Axiom Space CEO, said: “It is an honour to continue the work that NASA and its partners have begun, to bring awareness to the profound benefits of human space exploration and to involve more countries and private citizens in these endeavours.”
As well as offering trips to the ISS, Axiom Space is also developing its own space station, which could accommodate paying passengers by 2022.
Axiom Space isn’t the only firm working on its own space station.
Another startup, called Orion Span, has announced plans to launch a luxury space hotel by 2022.
