A police dog in Chicago helped authorities recover a massive amount of pot after the canine sniffed out more than 1,500 pounds of marijuana valued at more than $10 million.
An operation by the Chicago Police Department’s narcotics unit led officers to stop a vehicle suspected of drug trafficking Sunday.
When the dog walked around the vehicle to sniff it out, it began barking, letting officers know there were drugs in the car.
Police posted the massive bust on Facebook where their dog proudly sat in the center of a room surrounded by the walls of pot.
"A police canine alerted to the scent of narcotics and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in over 1,500 pounds of cannabis products with a street value of over $10,000,000 being recovered," police said in the Facebook post Sunday.
Cops say that they learned the drugs were being trafficked from Chicago to California and the driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with cannabis possession of more than 5,000 grams.
