Stunning footage shows what travelling at 700mph between two of the biggest cities in the Gulf could be like.

Incredibly experts believe that a new ultra-high-speed train will take just 12 minutes to get between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

At the moment the 86 mile journey takes around an hour-and-a-half.

A video shared on Twitter shows the first pod prototype, giving a glimpse of what it would be like to go on a subsonic ride.

Passengers travelling at the speed of a jet aircraft will be able to relax in cabins with reclining seats.

Backers said: "It's a cozy way to send people to send people hurtling within a magnetic levitation tube."

It is thought that the new Hyperloop service could save an estimated $800 million per year in lost working hours.

But people shouldn't expect it to be up-and-running anytime soon, with testing expected to last another five years.

The clip was shared by the Dubai Media Office.

It comes after ports operator DP World said it would be partnering with Virgin Hyperloop One to create high-speed delivery systems around the world, Gulf News reports.
